Molloy College BFA Program

MOLLOY COLLEGE & CAP21 BFA IN THEATRE ARTS

CAP21 has partnered with Molloy College in Rockville Centre, Long Island and offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Theatre Arts. Applications are now being accepted for Fall 2016.

Students enrolled in the Program will move "as a cohort" through the courses on the Rockville Centre campus, located less than an hour outside of New York City, and the CAP21 facility. As they pursue the BFA degree, Molloy students will experience both Molloy College campus life and the New York City professional theatre surroundings at CAP21. During their first year, freshmen will spend three days a week taking a variety of academic classes at Molloy. The other two days of the week will be spent taking classes at CAP21's Manhattan facility on 18th Street. For sophomore, junior and senior years, BFA students will take two days of classes at Molloy and three days of classes at CAP21. Throughout their eight semesters in the BFA program, students will take a wide range of performing arts classes that will include: Acting, Voice (both ensemble and individual), Jazz and Ballet. Performance Opportunities

Although first-year BFA students are not permitted to audition or participate in performances, they will enjoy numerous performance opportunities beginning in their sophomore year.  These performances are held both in Manhattan and at Molloy's new performing arts center, The Madison Theatre.

In their final semester, BFA students may participate in industry showcase opportunities in Manhattan designed to help them secure representation as they launch their performance careers.

How to Apply

Students interested in applying to the BFA program need to do the following:

  • Submit a Molloy application or complete the Common application.
  • Once academically admitted by Molloy College, students will then be required to audition for CAP21 with two contrasting 32 bar cuts of a song and a monologue from a published play or screenplay.
  • The audition may be completed in-person or submitted electronically.
  • Following acceptance by CAP21, the student will then be officially enrolled as a BFA student.
