Describe your experience with Summer Stock NYC:

It was a really rewarding and interesting experience to be on the "other side" of a theater production. I really enjoyed getting to know and working with the actors, directors, choreographers, and the stage manager in a professional setting.

What did you learn from working in a professional theatre setting?

I learned about the rules of Actors Equity and a lot about working backstage on a professional production. I also learned how to write light cues for a production, which was really interesting, and how much work goes into promoting a show and about how all the backstage elements affect a production.

What was the most successful aspect or element of your experience?

It was neat to see how everyone worked together, it was very different from al the school productions I've been in. Watching the directors and choreographers work with the cast during the tech rehearsals was a big learning experience. I learned how you need to pay close attention and focus. I also learned about how the crew and the director and choreographers communicate.

Are there any other comments you can share to provide insight for future participants in Summer Stock NYC?

It was a great time. It's a great chance to learn all about how theatre works I would recommend it.
