Describe your experience with Summer Stock NYC:

I had such a great experience with Summer Stock NYC. It was a lot of hard work and was so rewarding in the end. I love that we got to collaborate with other CAP21 students as well as students and directors from other schools.

What did you learn from working in a professional theatre setting?

I learned SO much. Watching all the different aspects of the process come together was such an enlightening experience. I especially thought it was very helpful learning how an equity run rehearsal process works while still being in the CAP21 setting. It was almost like we got a chance to dip our toes in the water before we're thrown in after we leave CAP21. I probably learned the most just from watching the seasoned performers work in rehearsals. I got to see how much an actor brings to rehearsal before a director even says a word and then watch it grow into what is brought to a performance. I loved getting to know the entire cast and making all of those connections, too.

What was the most successful aspect or element of your experience?

On a personal level, learning the choreography in the time given was a huge challenge for me. I wouldn't label myself as a dancer as much as an actor who moves well. However, I was proud of myself for welcoming the challenge. Also, it was great getting to work with such a wonderful and gracious choreographers.

Are there any other comments you can share to provide insight for future participants in Summer Stock NYC?

I have all good things to say about Summer Stock NYC. It was an incredible experience that I was honored to be a part of!!
