  THE MONDAY NIGHT READING SERIES

The Monday Night Reading Series was launched to take an initial look at new work and present classic plays and musicals. Established in 1997, readings are free and open to the public.

Monday Night New Works @CAP21

This series is designed to present new work to an audience. It is for the writer to see and hear their new musical or play and evaluate its progress. All stage readings take place in The Shop Theater at CAP21. After the reading, the writer has the option to have a talkback session with the audience moderated by the artistic director, literary manager or director. Audiences include emerging and established theatre artists, industry professionals, students and the general public. The writer(s) may also opt for a closed meeting with members of the artistic staff at CAP21 to discuss the work.

Monday Night Classics @CAP21
This reading series is dedicated to performing classical musicals and plays in the theatre. Recognizing that the great theatre of today is possible because of the accomplishments of artists and writers who came before us, CAP21 celebrates the brilliant work of the past in this series of stage readings. By presenting classics, CAP 21 provides an opportunity for actors to learn some of the great pieces from the canon and audiences to hear the language and the music.
